The fifth album of the American band Live bears the appropriate title V. Live broke through in the Netherlands with the second album Throwing Copper and the singles I Alone, Selling The Drama and Lightning Crashes. Since then little has changed musically and every new album contains a few hits. The main figure in the band is singer Ed Kowalczyk. This charismatic front man effortlessly manages to
… play a large audience. Live is popular with the alternative crowd as well as the hit parade crowd. The band has already been a big crowd puller at Pinkpop a few times, but just as easily knocks the house down at Pepsi-pop or the TMF Awards. As already mentioned, there are few surprises on V, other than the collaboration with Tricky on the first single Simple Creed. Another notable guest is Adam Duritz from Counting Crowes. He provides the background vocals on the song Flow. For the rest, V has mainly become a typical Live album with some catchy rock songs (Deep Enough, Like A Soldier) and of course a few radio-friendly ballads (Call Me A Fool, Overcome). Live, the saying 'never change a winning team' is very important. They have once again delivered a guaranteed success album with V.
