The Hermes House Band was founded in 1982 by a couple of Rotterdam students. After many changes in the line-up, they suddenly scored a huge hit in 1995 with the song I Will Survive. The faces of the band at that time were Judith Ansems, Robin Maas and Jop Wijlacker. Following the tradition of a student band, after a few years they made way for younger students and the three each went their own way.
However, when I Will Survive also became a hit abroad in 1997, there was a need for a few regular faces. As a counterpart to the Dutch Hermes House Band, an international variant was founded: HHB International (again with Ansems, Maas and Wijlacker as the main members). The CD Party! All Over The World is a kind of 'best of' album and contains all the hits that HHB International scored abroad between 1997 and 2002. You can hear I Will Survive, Que Sera Sera, Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You, You've Got A Friend (by James Taylor), Country Roads (by John Denver) and Tonight's The Night (an English translation of Marco Borsato's Dreams Are Deception).
