"One is not enough" say the ten young Australian singers who form The Ten Tenors. The group was formed in 1995, when ten tenors were sought for the celebration of the ten-year anniversary of a television channel. The singers - not only tenors, but also a few baritones and basses - had all received professional training at the conservatory. The ten charming people in their twenties and thirties sang
… loud and powerful, a versatile repertoire that ranged from classical to pop. The occasional performance was such a success that the group decided to continue. The albums Tenorissimo! (1998) and Colors (1999) were very popular in Australia. Successful tours expanded from Australia and New Zealand to Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, among others. After the more classically oriented albums, the pop album One Is Not Enough has been released. In addition to eight of their own compositions, The Ten Tenors sing traditionals such as Waltzing Mathilde and O Sole Mio and covers such as Bohemian Rapsody and Dancing Queen. The singers sing all the songs with a lot of flexibility, flawless, compelling and often with humor. The Ten Tenors also appear to be excellent entertainers live. All in all a nice listening album.
