The Wannadies actually only live their entire existence on one song: You And Me Song. The cheerful uptempo guitar pop song, taken from the album Be A Girl (1994), was a big alternative hit (especially in England), not least because it was found on the soundtrack of the movie Romeo & Juliet (1997). Although several more albums followed, the Swedish band then fell into obscurity a bit and there
… was little of the popularity left. The new album Before & After was originally intended as a concept album on two CDs, where the first CD (Before) contained the party part and the second CD (After) contained more quiet songs. However, that did not happen, with the result that there are now twelve songs on one disc, six Before and six After. The first six songs are as expected nice and cheerful and jumpy, the last six a bit more subdued. Especially here are beautiful songs to be found, such as Happy, with an important role for singer Christina Bergmark. Before & After is a nice record, but whether The Wannadies will regain some of their old popularity with this is the question, because a second You And Me Song is also missing this time. (IV)more
