It is sometimes joked about UB40 that the band has one master tape that is reused for every CD, the music of the English reggae group is so similar. Perhaps that is why the idea arose that UB40 mainly releases compilation CDs and 'greatest hits compilations', while the band still makes new albums. Like 2001 Cover Up, and 2003 Homegrown. … with which Homegrown is advertised: a return to the classic UB40 sound, an exploration of new musical boundaries? But who cares, as long as UB40 keeps doing what they do best - making extremely easy on the ear pop reggae - no fan will be bothered by creative stagnation or lack of innovation. The three concerts that UB40 gives in Ahoy 'to support the sale of Homegrown prove once again the popularity of the band. (IV)more
