The Hague rock group Kane reached the absolute top in the Netherlands quite quickly after its foundation in 1998, but abroad was less convincing. To force a European breakthrough after all, the best tracks from As Long As You Want This (2000) and So Glad You Made It (2002) for What If were re-recorded and put on one CD. Singer Dinand Woesthoff has now definitely swallowed the potato, which got in
… his way on the first two albums. The songs, including Rain Down On Me, Damn Those Eyes, Head Down, So Glad You Made It and Can You Handle Me sound a bit more balanced in terms of sound image in the new versions, but otherwise have not changed significantly. The result is an impressive Greatest Hits, although strikingly enough the Dutch breakthrough hit Where Do I Go Now from 1999 is missing. (MS)more
