It goes too far to call The Congos a 'one hit wonder', but it is certain that they would never have become known without their legendary debut album Heart Of The Congos (1977). That one record brought singers Roydel Johnson and Cedric Myton eternal fame among reggae fans. … Heart Of The Congos Johnson and Myton ended their collaboration. They continued to refer to The Congos in their stage name and Myton even continued under the same name. Cock Mouth Kill Cock is his solo album. Producer Bunny 'Striker' Lee has provided a nice vintage sound and Myton is a great singer. But with the absence of Lee Perry and Roydel Johnson, it has little to do with The Congos of the late 1970s. (MH)more
