Hip-hop producer Hi-Tek (Tony Cottrell) from Cincinnati became known for his collaboration with Talib Kweli and Mos Def on the albums Black Star (1998) and Reflection Eternal (2000). Hi-Tek thus played an important role in the success of the independent hip-hop label Rawkus, which was popular in the late 1990s. … beats, rapped a little bit and mainly let others speak. The successor Hi-Teknology 2 is built according to the same formula. Since the first part, Hi-Tek has made a lot of progress, and this is also noticeable in the number of guests on part two. Talib Kweli is of course not missing, but the really big names such as The Game, Busta Rhymes and Nas are also present. A notable name is The Willie Cottrell Band, behind which lie Hi-Tek's family members, who come to jam in his studio every Sunday. (IV)more
