In the Netherlands, the writer, poet, singer and producer Rick de Leeuw is best known as the lead singer of the rock group Tröckener Kecks, which was disbanded in 2001. De Leeuw then concentrated more on his poetry and writing. He met the Flemish Jan Hautekiet, a classically trained pianist, well-known radioman and in-demand session musician. … theater program full of stories, poems and music. The album Waar is the debut album of this duo who call themselves Hautekietendeleeuw. The CD is a reflection of the lyrics and songs that got their final form in the theaters. The album starts with a melodic orchestral intro and ends with a recited poem under visual piano playing and other exciting sounds. In between, De Leeuw sings with his typical silky voice beautiful poetic lyrics about life and especially about love and a range of feelings.
