Everything in the life of Brandy Norwood (1979) seemed to go well. Before reaching adulthood she was an R&B superstar with countless hits, who also starred in films and even had her own television series (Moesha). But from her fourth album Afrodisiac (2004), things got going. Her sweet-voiced style fell out of fashion and Brandy slowly faded from view. In 2006 tragedy struck, Brandy was involved
… in a car accident in which one was killed. She made her fifth album Human during the period when she was anxiously awaiting a lawsuit brought by the next of kin of the victim. It is clear that Brandy has opted for security during this turbulent period in her life. And so we hear songs that are in everything reminiscent of the typical R&B of more than a decade earlier.
