With Malice N Wonderland, Snoop Dogg has already held his tenth record. His previous CD Ego Trippin (2008) was very well received. It was seen as Snoop's best CD in ages, although you can differ on that. There is no discussion about the rapper's musical direction. With the arrival of Malice N Wonderland, one can only conclude that the gangster rapper from Long Beach, California is making more and
… more R&B instead of hip-hop music. The album features guest appearances from Jazmine Sullivan, The-Dream and R. Kelly. Unfortunately, there is no Dr. Dre production and even more painful is the track Special, the possible sequel to the hit Beautiful (2002), with which The Neptunes completely miss the mark. Partly due to a suitable production of Battlecat, the track Secrets is digestible, but in general this is a very disappointing material, especially in the production area. With a rapper like Snoop Dogg you simply need dirty, raw hip-hop beats and no smooth, conformed R&B tunes. (GL)more
