If we can believe the weather forecasts surrounding the release of this CD, a long period of sun, sea and sand awaits us. Mo'Horizons responds well to this with what we can now call the most summery dance CD of 2011. Mo'Horizons made a name for itself in a time when lounging was not a dirty word. Luckily they stopped making soundtracks for this craze in time and switched to funky breakbeat. Like
… Quantic, they were heavily influenced by South American music during their many performances around the world. Unlike Will Holland, as Quantic is actually called, they did not mix traditional styles such as reggae, cumbia and salsa, but added their funky beats to the traditional repertoire. The Bananna Soundsystem, as Mo'Horizons and their latin guests call themselves, mixes calypso, cumbia, flamenco, samba and bossa nova with the driving rhythms of Ralf Droesemeyer, the brain behind this company. Excellent music for a refreshing cocktail that, unlike the lounge, has not yet been banned from the nightlife. (AD)more
