Despite the commercials, solo albums and his performances for the Socialist Party, Bob Fosko will mainly remain known as the frontman of De Raggende Manne. At the beginning of the nineties, that group shook up the dozed Nederpop world with their manic rock explosions. Fosko's lyrics were full of typical Dutch annoyances (wheel clamps, the weather) and curses ('Shall I shit in your face?'). The people
… of Production House East Netherlands (known from Kyteman's Hiphop Orchestra and NO Blues) wondered what a mix of punk and classical would sound like. So lyrics by the Raggende Manne with classical arrangements. A few young composers provide Fosko's one-dimensional scream with a rich instrumental palette (colored by violin, oboe, clarinet). Despite the skills of the classical musicians, the formula is sufficiently developed halfway through this album. This makes Classic Raggen an infectious 'novelty act', but nothing more. (PdK)more
