On the accompanying DVD, the story behind Death ... is explained in a clear and atmospheric way. … an album on the spot. This happens, as evidenced by the DVD, in great harmony and with a lot of friendly jokes and mutual pats on the back. The result may also be there. The music is audibly relaxed, but at the same time they know how to avoid a jam session atmosphere. Fosko, more of a reciter than a singer, is like a fish in water with his lyrics that are always good for a smile. Musically no style is shunned. Because of that variation (from chanson to free jazz) it seems a bit rudderless here and there. That is perhaps the only easy thing about this otherwise very likeable album. (MR)more
