What About Now is Bon Jovi's twelfth studio album. The men from New Jersey no longer have to prove themselves with 130 million albums sold. Partly because of this, they seem to cling to their familiar concept for years. No musical experiments on this album, just the characteristic Bon Jovi sound that they already played in the nineties. It kicks off with the optimistic Because We Can. It is a
… precursor to a cheerful album full of rock songs with catchy melodies. Other striking examples are the title track, That's What The Water Made Me and What's Left Of Me. The only noticeable change is the prominent presence of Richie Sambora, who makes a significant contribution to the sound of What About Now with both his guitar solos and his backing vocals. So Bon Jovi's twelfth is nothing new under the sun, but the boys do what they do best. (BvdV)more
