The Baseballs also became famous in the Netherlands in 2010 thanks to beautiful covers of big hits such as Umbrella and Hot & Cold in a rockabilly jacket. This popularity cannot be compared to the star status the boys enjoy in their home country Germany, where they cannot normally walk the streets. With Game Day the band is now on their fourth album. They experiment for the first time with their
… own songs in the form of Mo Hotta Mo Betta and Goodbye Peggy Sue, but the real fire seems to be lacking in these songs. That cannot be said of the covers, to which the Berlin seven-piece has managed to give a surprising rockabilly twist. The most successful are Lorde's Royals and Lana Del Rey's Video Games in which the creativity of The Baseballs really emerges. (BvdV)more
