Her self-titled debut was released in 1995, and Sophie Zelmani has continued to release music ever since. Everywhere (2014) is her tenth album, but this will not bring about a big shock. That does not suit Zelmani at all, because the Swedish singer is not someone who likes to look for publicity. Her shyness seems to be the reason that she does not perform much (at least outside Sweden), but Zelmani
… does not aspire to foreign success either. She prefers to let her music speak for itself, and Everywhere succeeds just fine. Together with her permanent producer Lars Halapi (present since 1995) she made a tasteful record with quiet songs that can best be described as a cross between americana and soft rock. Sometimes sung almost in a whisper, always played modestly and controlled, with occasional accents of a lap steel, Hammond organ or strings (the beautiful Do You Think It Could Wait?).
