When saw a show of Vintage Trouble, Kravitz admitted that he felt like 'he was at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival'. A nice compliment from the retro rocker. Vintage Trouble does indeed make thoroughbred soulful blues rock that would not have been out of place in 1967. One calls it timeless, the other says it is dated. The group switches effortlessly from a soul ballad (Shows What You Know) to a blues blast with slide guitar (Run Like The River) or even a tidy pop hit (Doin 'What You Were Doin'). The eye-catcher is singer Ty Taylor who can lash out firmly as well as gently swipe. The group already played the opening act for the , , , and, of course, Lenny Kravitz. That constant touring has made Vintage Trouble a smooth machine. One that also impresses on this second album. (PdK)more
