Tenth album by Tindersticks from Nottingham, not counting the compilation Across Six Leap Years (2013). That the band around moped Stuart A. Staples would reach that milestone was not very obvious, about ten years earlier. After the release of (2003) it almost came to a break. But in addition to reflection - and a shrinking line-up - the CD has yielded something else: the collaboration with
… Mexican-American singer . She first appeared in the song Sometimes It Hurts, after which she also appeared on Staples' solo album (2006). That she is now making her appearance again is truly special. De Sela already died of breast cancer in 2010. But it's not only for that reason that the duet Hey Lucinda deserves a special mention here. With the classic story 'man tries to seduce woman (his ex?), But he keeps the boat off' and the subtle addition of steel drums, it is an undisputed highlight at The Waiting Room.
