"If you're blonde and you're into jazz, you'll soon be the new Rita Reys." Was signed, Janne Schra, after her period in the bands and she is now on her third solo album. Funnily enough, that is largely inspired by various trips made by the North Holland. On OK we find songs about a club in Sydney, planets and alpha men. About birds and driving to Paris in your first car, crying out and waving
… goodbye. About getting drunk in New Orleans and other ways to escape. Paris Syndrome in particular is beautiful. Nicely constructed, where more and more instruments can be heard. Furthermore, the first half of the album sounds a bit too casual to me. Fortunately, Schra is recovering towards the end with beautiful, slightly nostalgic songs like Ocean and Stay Young. That is in line with the message that after a turbulent period her life is actually quite OK again. (RME)more
