It is remarkable how an artist like The Field with a concept such as repetition manages to be so versatile. On his sixth album he shows that he has now perfected his trick and also knows how to give it a twist thematically. The title refers to a moment that you wouldn't want to ever pass. As on previous albums, most songs last an average of ten minutes, but some could easily go on for half an hour.
Sometimes Axel Willner just needs a ghostly sample of a voice or a single beat that he stretches and repeats to create a universe of its own. Apparently simple, but meticulously constructed. This creates mesmerizing techno songs full of texture, which transport you to the special world of this sound artist. (JvQ)more
