The French title Banane Bleue (Blue Banana) derives from the concept of the same name devised by the French geographer Roger Brunet. It covers the part of Europe, from Milan to Liverpool, which forms a kind of industrial core. Frànçois Marry used this title because this album was created in different European cities, such as Paris, Athens and Berlin. Moreover, he borrowed instruments from fellow
… musicians and asked himself whether romanticism means the same thing all over the world. One thing is certain: Banane Bleue is dripping with romance. The end result is sweetly melodious, sultry and feather-light. Electro and dream pop, lounge, plus a pinch of world music. The album was produced by the Finn Jaakko Eino and mixed by the Iranian-French Renaud Letang. With this multicultural approach Fràncóis & The Atlas Mountains transcends both national borders and musical genres. (JvQ)more
