Depeche Mode's new album Ultra features eleven songs written by singer / keyboardist Martin Gore. The CD was recorded in studios in London (Abbey Road, Eastcote, Westside, Strongroom, RAK), New York (Electric Lady) and Los Angeles (Larrabee West). Two of the eleven songs are instrumental. … Barrel Of A Gun from this album was already a big hit in England but not really convincing either. The overall tone of Ultra is pretty bleak. Songs like The Love Thieves, Home, Useless, and songs filled with synthesizers like It's No Good and Sister Of Night are quite enjoyable, but they don't make you happy.more
