Since the hits "Passie" and "Zie me happily" from 1995, Clouseau has no longer managed to reach the highest echelons of the charts. The first single from "In stereo", "Nothing more", has again got stuck in the middle bracket. And yet it could just happen again with this album. It is a fresh-sounding pop album with the well-known Clouseau ingredients: sensitive ballads ("Did I ever say", a translation
… of Van Morrison's "Have I told you lately that I love you", "What I feel about you"), happy pop songs ("Always more and more", "Me, you, he or she") and danceable, funky songs ("Stay with me", "Someone like you"). It's not the songs; it is more questionable whether the Netherlands is still interested in Clouseau. (W.vd.Z.) _more
