More and more artists are doing it: performing the most successful album of their career in full live. For Primal Scream that cannot be anything else than Screamadelica, the groundbreaking album with which they broke down the walls between rock and house in 1991. Especially in England the group is still immensely popular, as is evident from the fact that the enormous Olympia Hall in London was sold
… out. The band is looking forward to it and the audience bounces with each characteristic intro. The band and a number of very strong guests (singer Mary Pearce, a gospel choir and four-piece horn section) immerse the audience in a mind-blowing trip. Not least because of the overwhelming visuals behind the band. In addition to the complete performance of Screamadelica, Primal Scream started the evening with a solid rock set of one hour. Oddly enough, the two sets on this DVD are reversed. The registration concludes with the rock set, but that is the only flaw in this excellent DVD. (PdK)more
