House band of the legendary soul label Stax, founded in 1962. The four members can be heard on albums by Otis Redding, Carla Thomas and Eddie Floyd. The group consisted of two black (pianist Booker T Jones and drummer Al Jackson) and two white (guitarist Steve Cropper and bassist Donald Dunn) musicians.
