Thomas Acda and Paul de Munnik got to know each other in 1989 at the Kleinkunstacademie in Amsterdam. The duo focuses on theater, but when their debut CD with songs from the performance catches on, the duo focuses on the music. Because of their two-part vocals, recognizable lyrics and ordinary boy image, they quickly grow into darlings of the Dutch audience. The sing-along song Niet Of Nooit Been… (1998) is a big hit. In addition, Acda and De Munnik, together with Van Dik Hout, score big hits under the name de Poema’s with My Wooden Heart and Zij Maakt Het Verschil.
In 2004 the duo put aside the acoustic approach for the somewhat heavier rock opera Ren Lenny Ren. The three albums that follow also go into more depth musically. The CDs are still linked to a successful theater program. In 2014 Acda & de Munnik decide to end their collaboration, which they do convincingly in 2015 with a show in Carré.more
