Although the band is often forgotten by historians, was The Lovin 'Spoonful between 1965 and 1967 responsible for a series of first-rate pop singles which only The Beatles and The Beach Boys themselves for having to tolerate. He leaves in 1967, followed a year later by Sebastian, which means the death knell for the band.
