Inspired by male vocal groups such as Il Divo and The Canadian Tenors, singer, television and radio host and columnist / writer Gordon founded the five-piece Los Angeles group, The Voices. The group members were selected by holding auditions at Gordon's home. The jury members Gordon, Tineke de Nooij (Veronica), Rick van Schooten (Sony Music) and producer / composer Bas van den Heuvel chose from
… about two hundred candidates the four singers Richy Brown (X Factor), Peter William Strykes, Roy van den Akker and Remko Harms (Looking For Joseph). On the debut album, the boy band mainly performs Dutch crossover pop, ballads that often reach a compelling and bombastic climax thanks to the use of a grand orchestra and vocal polyphony.
