Interesting Latin American repertoire can be found on Winanda del Sur's CD "Luna y mar". This formation consists of: Winanda van Vliet (vocals), Gabriel Aguilera (guitar, tiple, charango, quena, zampona, vocals), Jasper Le Clercq (violin, vocals), Jaime Rodriquez (percussion, electric banjo, vocals), Paul van Utrecht (guitar, mandolin, vocals) and Patricio Wang (guitar, cuatro, charango, vocals).
The latter wrote (partly) four of the fourteen compositions ("Rima", "Yo en el fanda del mar", "Clara luna" and "Caleuche"). Furthermore, there is a traditional song from Cuba on this CD ("Los aretes de la luna") and a traditional, exciting song from Mexico ("El gustito"). The CD opens with a song by Astor Piazzolla: "Los pajaros perdidos". Winanda van Vliet, who wrote two songs for this CD himself, has a voice with a strong yet delicate timbre. "Luna y mar" is a CD of exceptional class!more
