In 2013 Joe Louis Walker was inducted into The Blues Hall Of Fame. After his award, JLW announced that he wanted to make blues that could also appeal to the youth. With his twenty-fifth (!) Album he reinforces those words, because Hornet's Nest - the successor to Hellfire from 2012 - has become a powerful, modern blues record, with some soul influences here and there. … about (childhood) loves, dreams and desires, but the charm of its old blues music is retained, despite the fact that the record sounds quite contemporary. This is partly because the record was recorded under the watchful eye of producer Tom Hambridge, who recently worked with fellow veterans James Cotton and Buddy Guy.
