Razorblade Romance is the second album by the Finnish quartet Him, short for His Infernal Majesty. The figurehead of the group is singer Ville Valo who makes a Jim Morrison-like impression during concerts with a bottle of wine in one hand and a cigarette in the other. The record was recorded in the famous Rockfield Studios, the birthplace of Queens Bohemian Rhapsody and Oasis' album What's the story
… Morning Glory, among others. The songs on Razorblade Romance range from the grungy Razorblade Kiss to dark melancholic songs like Gone With the Sun. Striking is their solid guitar version of Chris Isaak's ballad Wicked Game. Producer was John Fryer, who has worked with White Zombie, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode in the past. (CK)more
