The Rotterdam band Postmen has been one big success story so far. The tasty cocktail of reggae and hip-hop on their debut album Documents was eagerly consumed by the press and public and won all the prizes that could be won. The second album Revival is a safe, even slick continuation of the success formula without shocking or innovative elements. Success with the general public therefore seems
… assured. The whole thing does sound a bit more like a band, so that the step to the stage can be made easy. Guest appearances have been made by reggae legend Morgan Heritage and hip-hop colleague E-Life. The Postmen, like their heroes Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder, try to combine fun with substance. But 'Songs In The Key Of Life' is out of the question for them. (RK)more
