Once a topless fashion model and presenter, we now know Geri Halliwell as the most controversial Spice Girl. The girl with the voluptuous bosom, daring playsuits and a good layer of make-up. In 1998 she left the supergroup rather abruptly, after which her image underwent a radical change. She got on the leash, dyed her hair blonde, and worked for charity as an ambassador for the United Nations and
… a British breast cancer prevention organization. In 2001 she surprised friend and foe by presenting herself within Labor Party circles during the elections. It only helped her popularity in England. On Scream If You Wanna Go Faster, her second solo album, Halliwell carefully cultivates her new image of 'the girl next door', with appealing pop songs about the child in everyone (Scream If You Wanna Go Faster), about love (Circles Around The Moon) and about life (Heaven & Hell). Unfortunately, Halliwell does not have a special voice, which is particularly striking in the cover It's Raining Men from the film Bridget Jones. Apart from that, Scream is a nice pop album, which will score well especially in England. (BP)more
