What happens when you let the best studio musicians from the west coast of America make a record? That was the question these studio rats asked themselves in 1978. The answer was Toto, the first album of the group of the same name. The record was full of musically high-quality soft rock, perfect for the radio but without the 'street credibility' of a 'real' band. The fact that Toto introduced a new
… lead singer on every single did not help the image of the group either. With the album Toto IV (1982) and the hit singles Rosanna and Africa, Toto rose above itself for a short while, but soon slipped back to the margins, although the albums continued to sell well. Almost twenty-five years after its founding, Through The Looking Glass, on which the group released a number of rock classics such as Could You Be Loved (Bob Marley), Living For The City (Stevie Wonder) and Sunshine Of Your Love (Cream).
