The American R & B singer R. Kelly broke through worldwide in 1996 with the ballad I Believe I Can Fly. He achieved success with his own albums (R. and TP-2.Com) as well as producer (Aaliyah, Sparkle, Toni Braxton) and songwriter (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston). The beginning of the year 2002 looked good for him: together with the Isley Brothers he scored a huge hit (Contagious) and the CD
… he made with rapper Jay-Z (The Best Of Both Worlds) also sold well. After that, however, came the problems. To begin with, he was accused from various quarters of sexual escapades with minors. Then it turned out that a large part of his new album Loveland had been leaked on the internet long before its release. Disillusioned, he decided not to release the album at all and instead he started on a completely new CD. The result is called Chocolate Factory and is yet again a typical R. Kelly CD without many musical direction changes. Again we hear a great mix of nice uptempo songs (Step In The Name Of Love, Who's That, Snake) and soulful ballads (Heart Of A Woman, Ignition, Showdown). Successful guest appearances have been made by Ja Rule, Fat Joe and Ronald Isley. The limited edition bonus CD features seven tracks originally intended for Loveland, including the song The World's Greatest from the movie Ali. (MvP) Fat Joe and Ronald Isley.
