Of the bands that emerged around 2000 during the nu-metal hype, it was mainly Linkin Park that managed to break through to the general public in the Netherlands. Commercial success was achieved with the debut album Hybrid Theory (2000), which was mainly due to strong singles such as Crawling and In The End, but also to the boy band-like appearance of the group members. After the remix album Reanimation
… (2002), the real second album Meteora was released at the beginning of 2003, on which Linkin Park continues on a familiar footing, as was already apparent from the first single Somewhere I Belong. Rapper Mike Shinoda and singer Chester Bennington can once again shout out loud about the basis of metal, scratches and electronic production gimmicks. The lyrics are also about the uncertainties and problems that a young person in 2003 may encounter 'on the way to adulthood'. Not surprisingly, but very well made. (IV)more
