The Canadian band Sum 41 makes themselves heard at the perfect moment: at the beginning of the new millennium when the punk pop wave is coming to an end and nu-metal is at its peak. The sound of Sum 41 can be summarized as a perfect mix of these two hard guitar styles and thus caught on almost immediately. The great success came with the album All Killer No Filler (2001), but before that the foundation
… of the success was laid by intensive touring with like-minded bands. Sum 41 is an extremely energetic company and this quality is again convincingly captured on the third album of the group Does This Look Infected? Whether the band also has a right to exist over a longer period is not yet clear. The screaming songs are too uniform and the humor of the group members too adolescent for that. (MS)more
