Despite the malaise in the music industry, there is still a large market for American-sounding rock in the Netherlands. After the successes of Kane, Di-Rect, Rosemary's Sons, Silkstone and Intwine, the Nijmegen rock band Feeler also managed to score a record deal. And it must be said, the music of Feeler (or F33l3r as they write themselves) is by no means inferior to overseas examples like Creed,
… Smashing Pumpkins and Nickelback. What immediately stands out is the super cool production, which makes the thirteen rock songs pop out of your speakers, as it were. In the hard songs all registers are pulled open, while in the ballads by producer Gordon Groothedde (ex-Spitball) tasteful violins have been added. It is not subtle and we have heard it before, but it is certainly convincing. The aforementioned names from the Dutch rock scene have at least a dangerous competitor with Feeler. (MS)more
