It is a miracle that the Amsterdam group Coparck delivers a third album at all. Despite much praise in the press, the band was unable to break through with the two previous albums. Even the use of a Coparck number in a commercial for Milner cheese couldn't change that. Three times is the charm, we hope. Again, it won't be the quality of The 3rd Album. Coparck makes fairly conventional indie rock,
… but thanks to the rich and tasteful band sound it has its own identity. The music, which has a predominantly serious and melancholic character, is put into perspective by lyrics in which many word jokes (God Dress America, Good Year For The Robots) pass by. Gone are the days when you were better off with our southern neighbors for intelligent, artistically responsible rock, but Coparck fans have known that for a long time. (MS)more
