Edsilia Rombley came fourth at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 with the song Hemel & Aarde. That was the best result of the Netherlands in 23 years, and with the popularity (and quality) of the Song Contest at a low point in the years that followed, Rombley was again asked to represent the Netherlands at the music event in 2007. She does this with Nooit Meer Zonder Jou, written and produced
… by her husband Tjeerd Oosterhuis (Total Touch). He also wrote and produced most of the songs on Meer Dan Ooit, Rombley's first Dutch-language album on which Nooit Meer Zonder Jou can be found. As the song sounds like a typical 'thirteen in a dozen' Eurovision song, the entire CD also suffers somewhat from uniformity. There's nothing really wrong with the smoothed out pop songs, but they are also unobtrusive and give Rombley little chance to shine. There are contributions by Candy Dulfer in Meer Dan Ooit and Pieter Both (Beef) in the reggae-like Alles & Niets. Heaven & Earth has been added as a bonus track. (IV)more
