Brave is Jennifer Lopez's second album of 2007. It is a very different kind of CD than its predecessor from that same year, Como Ama Una Mujer. That was an entirely Spanish-language ballad album, on which Lopez collaborated with her husband, and also Latin singer, Marc Anthony. Brave only just returned to the albums with which Lopez broke through and achieved superstar status. That means a mix of
… dance, pop and R&B. There was little to dance on Como Ama Una Mujer, Brave is just the opposite. Almost all songs are uptempo, ballads cannot be heard. Brave opens strongly with Stay Together, on which Lopez seems to sing about her marital happiness: 'Heartbreak's so overrated / Stay together that's the new trend'. The album does not excel in striking productions, although Forever carefully experiments with Oriental sounds in a fun way. The only guest appearance is by rapper Ludacris, in the second version of the single Do It Well added as a bonus track. Brave has also appeared in a 'deluxe edition'. This version not only has a more extensive booklet (more photos and lyrics) but also an extra DVD with three video clips from previous albums. (IV)more
