In May 2007, singer Caro Emerald received a panicky phone call from two producers. They had just written a song with songwriter Vince Degiorgio (Atomic Kitten, A-Teens, N'Synch) for a Japanese pop act, but the latter failed at the last minute. Emerald recorded Back It Up and posted it to YouTube with a no-budget clip. The response was overwhelming, and Emerald received a flood of pleas to sell the
… song through iTunes. A complete album was the logical next step. Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor is entirely inspired by the film music of the 1940s and 1950s. Ballroom orchestras, cinematographic tangos, exciting mambos and swinging jazz are the accompaniment to Emerald's cheerful singing. Think of a big party at the nightclub from the movie The Mask, where Emerald certainly wouldn't be out of place, and you know how this CD sounds. (AD)more
