Good art inspires. Perhaps that is the idea behind the pencil that is in the CD cover with the first album of Dazzled Kid. 'You can draw here' is even written in the booklet as an encouragement. Tjeerd Bomhof, the man behind Dazzled Kid, has at least let his own creativity run free for this album. It provides a layered and successful pop album. … turns and bounce from summer pop to indie rock and even synthi pop. It seems like spring in Tjeerd's head, because good ideas like spring flowers emerge in every song. Bomhof seems to feel liberated from his ex-band Voicst, which suddenly sounds very guitar-oriented compared to Dazzled Kid. In the person of producer Simon Akkermans (C-Mon & Kypski) Bomhof has the ideal declarant. Together with a large number of well-known guest players they forged a rich album that can compete with the ambitious pop records of the late sixties. (PdK)more
