After a lost lawsuit, Santi White was no longer allowed to use the name Santogold and the New York singer adopted the name Santigold. Only one letter changed in her artist name and very little changed on her second album. Nearly the same group of producers was brought together, allowing John Hill, and to let off steam again. … nagging voice echoes again wonderfully over dry electronics and rhythms. Stagnation means decline and that is why the eclectic artist has opened another can of hip producers. and David Sitek may provide some new impulses. They can certainly be found on Master Of My Make-Believe. Compared to the debut, the album contains more subcutaneous tension. It is brewing and bubbling in a calm yet ominous way. The 11 songs are therefore not as urgent or hit-sensitive as, for example, the irresistible single Lights Out from 2008. That's not bad, because Santigold does extend her status as a leading singer.
