They looked like they had walked out of a fantasy movie from the eighties, yet the two members of Empire Of The Sun managed to achieve success in 2009. combined an eccentric appearance with striking electro-pop songs. The group scored particularly well in England and their own Australia. Anyone who was pleasantly surprised by the debut will also find enough tasty on this second CD. It is almost
… impossible to sit still during floor fillers like the title track or the awesome disco of Old Flavors. At the same time the music keeps something subtle and elusive, as if the gentlemen were singing their vocals somewhere high in the stratosphere. Empire Of The Sun clearly has more content than most dance groups and they do it without sacrificing accessibility. The news that made the debut so surprising is gone, but it is hoped that the duo will also be able to convert the music on this second album into cash. (PdK)more
