Bram Vanparys, better known as The Bony King Of Nowhere, decided to name his third album after his stage name. Vanparys locked himself with his guitar in an old house in Mirwart for two weeks and recorded all nine songs in one go on a rainy summer evening. It is not surprising that The Bony King Of Nowhere has become a modest record without any frills. Not surprisingly, the songs deal with themes
… such as loneliness (Across The River), yearning for that one girl (Lonesome Girl) and the freedom of the traveling man (Traveling Man and Wildflowers). "Two weeks on your own on a hill makes you think," said the singer himself. The result is an unprecedented achievement because The Bony King Of Knowhere turned out to be a beautiful album. An album that many a songwriter could have worked on for two years. (BvdV)more
