When discussing of the Irish quartet The Strypes, almost every reviewer (including those from Muziekweb) started talking about the young age of the band members. Just 16 years old and already so good! This second album just continues. Even though the band members are now allowed to vote, fortunately they are still buzzing with boyish swagger. That also fits perfectly with their music. The Strypes
… play no-nonsense muscle rock with a leading role for the heavy riffs of guitarist Josh McClory. They do resemble the Limburg power trio . They are so young and have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of rock music from the early 1970s. Nothing wrong with that. When this 'old' music is played with as much guts and conviction as The Strypes do, there is always someone who wants to hear these young rockers. (PdK)more
