Opinions about Alt-J are quite divided. One finds the music of the English group ingenious, the other too inventive. The enormous attention from the (British) music press and the winning of the prestigious Mercury Prize has only increased the division. It's 'love or loathe' at Alt-J, there is no other flavor. … expectations for successor This Is All Yours are high. And that while the group did not have access to bassist Gwil Sainsbury, who no longer saw life as a rock musician. Fortunately, Alt-J has not succumbed to the pressure and radiates the pleasure of This Is All Yours. Without losing sight of the pop song, the band is busy with technical gimmicks and musical jokes, as fellow countrymen and to do so well before. No fan or hater will change their mind, but Alt-J is at least keeping course. (JE)more
