had only just been released, but the band members of Blues Pills were already making plans for the follow-up. And rightly so, the first Blues Pills was a huge success among the many fans of 'vintage rock'. Just like the first album, Don Alsterberg was hired as a producer, who recorded the quartet's music completely analog. That of course fits perfectly with the retro, soulful hard rock of Blues
… Pills. During the recording of this album, the quartet worked long hours and then slept on the studio floor. Listening to Lady In Gold, those hardships were not for nothing. Compared to the debut Lady In Gold sounds a bit more soulful. Just listen to the lived ballad I Felt A Change. Another nice extra is the work of guest musician Rickard 'Long Legs' Nygren, who deepens the sound of the band with his parts on the Hammond organ and the mellotron. (PdK)more
